The original Gothic castle from the end of the 13th century was rebuilt by Václav Bruntálský of Vrbno in the second half of the 17th century. At the beginning of the 19th century the castle got its final shape. After a fire in 1801 just the east wing and the castle tower were renovated and the lower terraced building was built.
The park was founded in 1625 - 1640; an integral part of the park area is the gardener’s house dating back to the turn of the 19th century. Today the castle is not open to the public.
