Urban monuments preservation area Kroměříž [ Městská památková rezervace ]
The town was established by the Bishop of Olomouc, Bruno of Schauenberg, in 1260.
The year 1643 was a milestone in the town´s history, as it was destroyed by swedish forces.
The historic core of the town comprises the Great Square with the chateau, the gardens beneath it, the town hall and a Marian column, as well as the Parish Church of Our Lady, St Maurice Minster, the Church of St John the Baptist, the former piarist gymnasium and the brewery.
